Layne brings a wealth of knowledge to our team. She hold a degree in Environmental Studies from Paul Smith's College where she took a community resilience class that focused on land use planning with a short study abroad in Germany which sparked her interests in land use and design. She also has a masters from the former Green Mountain College in Resilient and Sustainable Communities while beginning her career in land use planning as a county planner and local development coordinator for Washington County NY. She took a position with the City of Burlington as  Permit technician which led to her most recent position as Assistant Zoning Administrator with the Town of Stowe. Zoning led her to realize that she loves being in the construction industry but that she wanted to be more involved in the entire process and that her passion for zoning could be met through volunteering for my communities Development Review Board.  

 

The thing she likes most about working in the building industry is being able to see an idea on paper turn into a physical structure and  putting the puzzle pieces together to figure out how that gets accomplished. She is inspired by the diversity of projects and the collaborative environment of working as a team; a large piece of why she was super excited to take on the position with LCB, the business ideal that we are working collaboratively as a solid team with the homeowners to create the vision that they have without pushing a standard sample model or cookie cutter templates.
 

Lanye is from Kingsbury NY (Upstate NY) and currently lives in Waterbury with her partner, Sarah which is awesome as it is central to everything we love to do. She knew she wanted to live in Vermont and followed her career over the NY/VT border in 2016 but really stayed for the community she found here, plus the views aren't half bad either. In her spare time she enjoys playing rugby, broomball, softball, bowling and taking her pup the Dude (as in the Big Lebowski) on adventures.
